My missionary work

Aside from writing, I am also heavily involved in the local church where I live. I live in a small community in Venezuela and attend an Independent Pentecostal church where I preach and teach on a regular basis—once every few weeks during the evenings, and I preach every fifth Sunday.

I also help with visiting another community near where I live on a rota basis on Tuesday afternoons. This is to help the community hear the word of God and have access to sound Christian teaching that they might not otherwise hear.

I am also the leader of the evangelistic outreach in our church. I am in charge of a group of about 10 people . We go out to different houses of non-believers to share with them the Word of God. The idea is that we want to share the gospel with people so they will get saved and then join our small church. I also have the task of visiting the houses of any non-Christian visitors that we receive to share with them the gospel.

I try to use the law to show people that their personal sins separate them from God and make them deserving of hell. But because God is rich in mercy, He sent us Jesus Christ, who died on the cross, satisfying the demand for justice by His life's blood and then rising from the dead. I teach that if we come to God through Him, we can be completely forgiven and brought into His family. I also teach them that without repentance and a changed nature (2 Corinthians 5:17), being the evidence of that repentance, there is no real salvation. My main mission in preaching the gospel is to glorify Christ and to make Him known among the people with whom I live. I desire to make it clear that to become a Christian is not easy, and if someone becomes a Christian, they have enlisted as a soldier in the Lord’s army. There must be a commitment to Christ as Lord if we are to be radically saved by Him.
